OSLO AIRPORT CITY
Oslo Airport City was established in 2006 and Kistefos AS is the majority shareholder.
Oslo Airport City is a principal participant in the development of property projects in connection with Gardermoen Business Park, located between the E6 and Oslo Airport Gardermoen (OSL). The location is close to Norway’s main domestic and international airport as well as Oslo, which makes the business park and the Gardermoen region one of Norway’s most attractive growth areas:
- As one of the fastest growing airports in the Scandinavia, OSL will open the new terminal 2 in 2017. Due the expansion, OSL is expected to create around 1,000-2,000 new jobs per year going forward.
- As one of the most important transportation hubs in Norway, it is expected that the area will become the most significant warehousing and logistics center in Norway.
- The Norwegian Heart and Lung Patient Organization has decided to locate their new hospital at Gardermoen Business Park, which represents an investment of around NOK 1 billion. The opening is scheduled in 2017.
Oslo Airport City controls a site totaling 900 decares and will develop about 800,000 square meters of commercial buildings. The zoning plan for the area has been finalized and development of individual projects within the business park is currently ongoing. Oslo Airport City has already entered into an agreement with Coop Norge Handel AS to establish a new main warehouse for eastern Norway on a 200 decares site. The first building stage of 50,000 square meters is already well under way, and the warehouse is expected to become fully operational in 2015.
